A1:Yes it is warm to wear if its chilly outside. Perfect for fall like weather. It is a thick material.

Q3:Does it close in front at all
A1:It does not, but sits nicely so it's not flopping open, if that makes sense. You could easily add a belt around the waist to keep it closed!
