This Autofocus Calibration Tool specially design for select cameras with "AF Fine Tune" or " AF Micro Adjustment" function. It comes with a built-in bubble level for keeping itself on the level. It also features a 1/4"-20 tripod socket for mounting it on a tripod. It's a good partner for you to test the autofocus performance.

Compatibility:

In order to make full use of the calibration tool, a camera must have the function of autofocus adjustment, please check your camera's instructions manual to see if this feature is available in your setup menu. Below are part of the compatible cameras with "AF Fine Tune" or " AF Micro Adjustment" function for your reference:

Canon EOS 50D,60D,70D,80D,6D,6D Mark II,7D,7D Mark II,5D Mark IV III II,1D Mark III IV,1Ds Mark III II,1D C
Nikon Z7,Z6,D7000,D7100,D7200,D300,D300S,D500,D600,D610,D700,D750,D800,D800E,D810,D810A,D850,D3,D3S,D3X,D4,D4S,D5,Df
Sony A850,A900,A77 Mark II,A99 Mark II

Steps of use:

A. Open and set up the tool vertically.
B. Aim at the center of the circle. (For long zoom lens, aim at the big circle; for short zoom lens, aim at the small circle)
C. Make sure the camera's CCD sensor is parallel to the center of the circle.
D. Focus on the center of the circle and take a picture (Advise using the maximum aperture as this brings a small depth of field so that you can examine the focus accuracy more easily. )
E. If the "0" on the scale is clear, it means the focus is accurate as this means the "0" and the center of the circle are in the same focal plane.
F. If the "0" on the scale is not clear while it is clear on the "1" below or above the "0", it means it is 1cm front focusing or 1cm back focusing, in this case, you need to fine tune the focus accordingly via your camera.
