The human eye doesn't perceive the infrared light. It carries too little energy and cannot cause a photochemical reaction in the visual pigments. The HQRP flashlight has the 620-630 nm wavelength that approaches as closely as possible the boundary of the infrared emission so that it became the least irritating to the eyesight of human or animal. As a rule, birds and mammals have the color sight, though not all the species have this feature. The sensibility to different colors varies. Diurnal animals developed better color sight than the nocturnal animals. Lots of nocturnal animals do not perceive the red color. Red color allows seeing sufficiently well at night and doesn't bother the night sight.
The rod photoreceptors (the photoreceptors that are responsible for the black and white mesopic vision) have the extra low sensibility to the red color and do not turn to the "daytime" mode in its light, though this color can be perceived by the "red" cones (day-time "color" photoreceptors). To observe the animals at night yellow is better than white; orange is better than yellow; red is better that orange, but the dark red is the best!
Using the dark-red flashlight at night you can successfully observe deer, badgers, field mice, starlings, beavers and other animals!

HQRP UV Meter: This meter shows you the level of UV and helps you protect your eyes and skin from negative sunlight effect. The color of the meter changes from very light purple to dark purple depending on the intensity of the UV lighting. The darker the purple color is, the more intense is the UV lighting.
