Created by compression winding a special Ni-chrome heating alloy onto a steel spool, all elements demonstrate an unsurpassed heat capacity and outstanding durability. Protective casings cut from a single block of steel are strengthened with multiple heat treatments and precision brazed for optimal strength and efficiency. Hardwood handle provides superior thermal and electrical insulating properties and durability. Users of this product have stated that they use it for several jobs which include but are not limited to: Melting sealant on PTFE flexible stadium roofs, testing fire detectors in no-flame areas (gas stations), soldering stainless steel roofing and flashing, soldering 14 gauge and thinner copper gutters, awnings, roofs and flashing, soldering down spout to 1/2 round copper gutter, soldering 3/4" diameter pipe to an aluminum water pan, joining barrels of shotgun with 'ribs', soldering copper conductor tubes to industrial size capacitor coil packages, soldering commercial sheet metal soldering in locations where propane and open flames are prohibited (hospitals, refineries, etc.), soldering wire cloth dandy roll on paper machine.
