This ceramic magnet measures 6" in length, 4" in width and in 1/2" in thickness. It's made of a grade 8 magnetic ceramic material and is capable of holding up to 21 lbs.

While not quite as powerful as neodymium magnets, ceramic magnets, or ferrite magnets are an economical solution for applications in which neodymium magnets are either too strong, too expensive, or environmental conditions are not ideal. Because of their extremely brittle nature, caution should be exercised when handling these magnets because they can expel shards if they are allowed to snap together or inadvertently slam against a magnetic surface.

Because of their more manageable magnetic force, these magnets are great for everyday use such as on a tool box to hold frequently used tools on the side of it, on a workbench to hold loose screws and fasteners, or even temporarily magnetizing hand tools.

Another benefit that ceramic magnets have over neodymium magnets is that their operating temperature range is much wider than that of neodymium magnets. A grade 8 ceramic magnet has a maximum operating temperature of up to 482°F, whereas neodymium magnets can being to experience a loss of magnetism in temperatures as low as 176°F.
